I Believe In...

The other day, someone posted this lovely blog post on the five genres of author branding. I, of course, had to read through it. I mean, that is something I do.

Branding, that is.

Well, and reading. A lot of reading.

Anyway...

According to the descriptions and the fact that the author said I could be a combination of two different kinds, I determined I'm a Classic Celebrity.

Which obviously means I'm Audrey Hepburn.

Naturally.

On the more serious side, I do look up to Audrey. She oozed class and sophistication while still being cute and quirky. She also wasn't afraid to be herself.

One of my favorite quotes attributed to her is:

"I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles."
In fact, I love this quote so much, I've come up with my own version.

I Believe In...

I believe in purple and sparkles.

I believe in chasing dreams and slaying dragons with a smile on my face.

I believe that, second to laughter, hugs are the best medicine.

I believe in holding my head high when I feel like hanging it in sorrow or shame.

I believe that a smile makes anyone look amazing.

I believe in putting one foot in front of the other, even if it means dragging it into place, until I'm able to run.

I believe that when I'm on the right path in life, opportunities present themselves.

I believe that prayers don't work unless I do.

I believe in the dreams and abilities of others and I believe in helping people reach their potential.

I believe the power of words - both written and spoken - can either make or break a person.

And I believe that creating something, bringing life to a canvas or page that was once blank, is the purest way to express who I am.

There's probably a lot more. I have a feeling this list will be an ongoing project, but dang, is it a good one.

So, I guess I have just one question for you -

What do you believe in?
